Discover Colombia's natural richness through its birds
Colombia: Bird Paradise
I am passionate about ornithology and Colombian biodiversity. Colombia is the country with the greatest diversity of birds in the world, hosting more than 1,900 species, which represents approximately 20% of all bird species on the planet.
Through this project, I seek to share knowledge about our birds, promote their conservation, and encourage responsible birdwatching in our country.
Each species has a unique story to tell, from the majestic Andean condors to the tiny hummingbirds that adorn our gardens.
Ecosystem Diversity
Colombia has an incredible variety of habitats ranging from the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, through the Amazon rainforests and eastern plains, to the páramos and perpetual snows of the Andes. This diversity of ecosystems allows the existence of unique and varied bird fauna.
🏔️ Andean Region
Home to hummingbirds, tanagers, and the majestic Andean condor. Cloud forests harbor unique endemic species.
🌊 Caribbean Region
Aquatic and shorebirds, and species adapted to dry climates. Important migratory route for northern hemisphere birds.
🌴 Pacific Region
One of the rainiest regions in the world, home to toucans, parrots, and an incredible diversity of endemic species.
🌳 Amazon Region
The world's largest rainforest harbors macaws, toucans, and hundreds of exotic bird species.
My Mission
My goal is to create awareness about the importance of bird conservation and promote sustainable birdwatching practices. Through education and documentation, we can ensure that future generations will also be able to enjoy Colombia's incredible avian diversity.
